Storm vs. Mountaineers Post Game Wrapup

Usually when your offense is on the field for only twenty or so plays, the game is not going well.  However, in this game it turned out to be a good thing.  The Lake Norman Storm scored on about one out of four plays.
We threw for close to two hundred yards and ran for around seventy.  Although the stats are impressive, we need to improve our offense when we get on our opponent’s side of the field.  Turning the ball over three times on their side of the fifty, is not going to be acceptable down the road.  But, Overall a good team effort.  The Storm left everything out on the field and that is all you can ask for.  A good start to what looks like will be a good season, however we have a lot of improvements to make and are looking forward to Monday’s practice.

A Strong Arm

Wow what an arm!  At the beginning of the season we knew we had a kid who could throw the ball.  He has a strong and accurate arm.” (Coach Guy Lemke about me) A strong arm separates the good quarterbacks from the great ones.  It is understood that every quarterback must have accuracy but a strong arm together with an accurate one is a deadly combination.  Last season, I had six games with at least one pass over thirty yards.  My average yards per pass was 9.9.  During the offseason I work out four days a week just to increase my arm strength.  To me, a strong arm is what completes a quarterback.
